Well, I have been too lazy to do much research but I still do not know why my mobile blogging tools cannot get an image or any other HTML uploaded properly to this blog. So, while I may add a few text blog entries here during my vacation, I will not be uploading photos.

What I will do is try to take regular random pictures and upload them to a MobileMe gallery that I just created (see it here).

Another day begins. Maybe I will figure out how to get pictures uploaded from my iPhone today.

Well, it’s been about a year and a half, but I finally got off my lazy butt and made a decision on how to replace the previous version of this blog — the one that was on the server that died.

I don’t feel like trying to recover the data from the old hard drive, but my blogging software still had many of the old entries, so I have uploaded them to this new blog. The images didn’t come across however, so I may eventually delete the entries that relied on them them.

The gloomy sky doesn’t do it justice, but here is a quick shot out the window of the new apartment. On sunny days this view should be great and in good weather the sunsets should be pretty close to spectacular — at least they better be considering how small the apartment itself is. I was just about to head out for an early dinner at a nice restaurant, but since a hail storm has just hit and probably put some ice on the road, I think I’ll just order a pizza and let someone else deal with the driving today.

May the new year bring a return to sane governmental policy in this country, an end to the insane war in Iraq, many good times for my family and friends… and a really big boost to my income ;-)

Oh, and did I forget to make a Christmas post? OK then, merry Christmas too.

Well, it’s Holloween, so BOOOO!

Oh, bah humbug, never mind.

Another oncall week finally over — and not soon enough. Not too many pages this time around, but definitely too many wakups. In fact, the last night or two I was getting woken up in the middle of the night for pages that turned out to be dreams.

I hate it when that happens.

OK, so maybe careful testing has shown that this particular treatment is safe and can save lives, but isn’t there something just mentally wrong with ensuring that all the lunch meat and poultry we eat is loaded with viruses just to lessen the chance that they harbor harmful bacteria?

And how much do you trust the large food companies? How many years will it be after this precedent is set that we hear the first news stories of large-scale illness or death caused by a new viral additive that turned out to be not quite as harmless as was thought before our ever-so-business-friendly FDA approved it for use?

I must say that organic foods are looking better and better every day; I just hope that the organic standard never gets subverted and rendered meaningless by the agro-lobby.

Took Friday off so I could enjoy a leisurely three day weekend since I was oncall for the last one. There didn’t seem to be much point in getting out of the house early though because of rain and by noon I was starting to feel a case of flu or something similar coming on, so I ended up sleeping the entire day away instead. What a waste of a vacation day.

Still, I was sick as a dog around midnight but felt fine Saturday morning, so maybe sleeping through Friday got me past that flu and saved the weekend?
