hello Seattle

Well, I’ve been here in Seattle for about three weeks now, had my furniture for about two weeks, and I am just now getting enough unpacked to start settling in a little. The office is basically set up so I can work comfortably again, the kitchen and living room need a lot of work but I can cook and watch TV so they’re “done enough”, but the bedroom is still just a room full of boxes that need to be dealt with. I have family coming in to visit this weekend so I guess I need to hop to it and finish most of the unpacking and organizing in the next couple of days.

The first week or two here was almost nothing but cold and rain, but the last few days have been warmer with much better weather. Seattle can be quite an attractive city when the weather is nice.

I expect to post a few pictures of the new place once I get it put together a little more. Hopefully that will be within the next few days.

goodbye San Diego

The movers have picked everything up, the place is clean [almost], and I am just about ready to say goodbye to San Diego for a while. It was great getting back to southern California after all these years; it felt like home immediately and it still does. Unfortunately the premium for living here is just a little too high for some of the things that I want to accomplish in the near future.

Seattle is getting more expensive by the minute too, but it’s still a little cheaper than San Diego and it has the strong boating culture that I want to get into. So, I’ll give Seattle a try for a few years to see how I like it.

I’m that I’ll be back in the San Diego area before too long, though — you just can’t stay away from home for very long.

Well, time to shut down the network, finish packing up, and hit the road…
